We carried on down Hiawassee until we hit Turkey Lake and then, by a strange turn of events, found ourselves outside of the Michaels!! (go figure). Steve asked if I wanted to head in - does the pope have a balcony? OF COURSE I wanted in . . . . and found this little stash (like I needed more stash but hey, what's a girl to do?)
It was then onwards and homewards via Publix - for those pesky groceries and then home for a glass (or two) of dry white and a pork chop dinner.
It's obviously a clear day here today as we've woken up to see no fewer than EIGHT hot air balloons over the house - I don't think they were looking for our house specifically but . . .
Over on craftbubble's Craft Mad & Loving It group it is the turn of the lovely Debs to present the sketch this week and her chosen twist is "Going Postal" - and this I MIGHT struggle with but I haven't given up yet. Here is her sketch and if you fancy
having a go then head over to here.
There are some mighty fine cards to check out, from the design team too, so why not pop over and have a look.
As it's Saturday, this means we shall be out to dinner with our neighbours, Sally and Roger, this evening and we're going out a little later than normal because they are taking their grandchildren to the Mount Dora corn maze, so we're thinking that we'll just head on over to a local restaurant like Bob Evans or Applebees or Chilis.
However, you are planning to spend your Saturday then I hope you will have a great one.

Have however, managed a little light crafting with a little ATC with stamps by The Cats Pyjamas - I'm really not sure how these can have slipped under my radar as they are so cute. I used some offcuts from the DCWV Rock Star card stack and then stamped my image and sentiment on to white card before cutting out and adding colour with copics and sakura glitter pens and I edged the sentiment with a copic marker too. I also added the finishing touch of three pink faux gemstones - like him?

I'm currently working on a themed project of "Hot Chocolate" for a challenge so I have layers of "browns" laid out ready and a stamped image and sentiment - so I'm already to rock and roll! Do check back later to see how it worked out!
In the meantime . . . When we got back from dinner here . . . .
at Chili's, where we enjoyed their two meals for $20 menu. we shared Texas cheese fries as an appetiser, followed by Cajun pasta for me and chicken crispers for Steve. It was a big meal and I had to leave much of my pasta . . . the waitress plainly had a BIG sense of humour as she came back with a big grin on her face and asked if we had saved room for dessert!!!!!!!!!! That'll be a NOOOOOO then - shame as they're usually delicious but hey . . . .
Home at last and we rolled out of the car like weebles (who, as we all know, wobble but they don't fall down!) and decided it was a beautiful evening so we sat out on the pool deck for an hour or so and read and watched the sunset till it got too dark to read any more. So now I've almost finished my fifth book (since leaving home) and played with this little chap, who was originally spotted on our neighbours palm tree and giving us some grief - one can only assume he was vexed that we were watching him!!
Also, a lovely sunset so I'd like to share this with you too.
Whatever you happen to be doing on this particular Wednesday I hope you are having fun. I'd also like to send get well wishes to my pal's Sue and Rosie who've been in the wars lately.

When I got home Steve was just finishing off his painting (on the hottest day!!!!) and about to hit the shower so I guess I'll head to the post office shortly with a modest package to a couple of friends - look out in a week's time people! - you KNOW who you are!

And then I decided to make another . . . being on a bit of a roll!! Still trying to complete my Christmas cards BEFORE Christmas this year, I was still making them up till Christmas eve last year and I don't want to be doing that again. This one sort of grew organically as I didn't intend to use the green DCWV Christmas paper stack and I didn't intend to use the Penny Black clear stamp sentiment OR image - I had quite another card in mind - didn't I? Still, I quite like the way it turned out even if I did take the top off the Crystal glamour Dust and then change my mind to the gold - I prefer the gold on this one, though you can see colour through the GD you would probably never guess I initially stamped it in Brilliance Crimson and green before overstamping in the Hampton Art Glue pad and then glittering. Now come on, own up, you wouldn't - would you?
Sorry there isn't much more to show you but we've had a real lazy day (except for cleaning round the pool tiles) and nothing of interest to photograph! Even the cows haven't been seen today!
Have a super weekend everyone.

This morning we slept in till a very decadent 08:50 . . . but hey, we're on vacation!! Not done much since either . . . except a little crafting.
Once we left Mannies, Wynneth and I had hatched a plot which involved a side trip to Michaels for a feigned comfort break!! And a little shopping!
IMAGINE our surprise when I rounded a corner and bumped in to Karen and Becky, our fellow craftapalooza-ites!!! Wonder what they were doing in there? Apparently they'd been dining locally and just felt the urge for a little retail therapy too. Karen and family still have a few days left so I wonder how many more opportunities they will find . . .
As we headed towards home we saw a fabulous sunset and, sadly, my photo probably doesn't truly do it justice. Back to our place for a chat, to ensure Wynneth had ALL of her craft purchases . . . . she even had time for a little last minute crafting! That's my girl!!! Safe journey home both and now I have no more "WYNNETH MADE ME DO IT" opportunities.
Thanks for looking and, as always, love to read your comments. Have a great Thursday

Fab evening with Karen and Wynneth last evening, we sat the girls at one end and the boys at the other - allowing us to plot a trip to Michael's after leaving the restaurant - well, it WAS only straight across the road!! Too good an opportunity to miss and they DID have more luscious Christmas stamps . . . like we need more but hey . . . it seemed sinful to leave them there!
This was us at Perkins, Left to right (from the front) Wynneth, Me, Karen and Becky.
And, as previously mentioned we then adjourned to here..... Neither of us seemed to spend much but ti didn't deter us from heading to the dollar store (two doors away) afterwards for Becky to top up on some fabby Halloween stuff, well it won't be long about will it!!
A busy day planned for us as we're off to Universal Studios to (finally) visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter which opened just days after we left for home last trip! Looking forward to this hugely and have charged the camera in readiness.
Safe journeys home to Wynneth and Tom and to Karen, Dave, Becky and Kris - it's been a load of fun and great meeting you all.
To the rest of you, dear readers, have a perfectly fab Tuesday and I hope you haven't woken up to find it's as cold as predicted. If it is, stay warm.
