Happy Saturday ....

Hi peeps,

How's your weekend starting off? Well, I hope ... mine is!

Still found some time for crafting ...... it was a pal's BIG Birthday recently and I made this to accompany her gift .. bet you can't guess what the gift might be?!!!

My tag
Materials used:
  • Strip of white card 21 x 17cm
  • Strip of textured maroon card 12.5 x 17.5cm
  • 5cm hole punch to cut holes in both layers
  • Stamplorations "HAPPY" and "BIRTHDAY" and Inkadinkado "40TH" stamped using Versafine onyx black ink
  • JOFY bloom and circles stamped using Memento tuxedo black
  • Sharpie and alcohol markers  used to colour the image
  • Recollections letters (from two of Michaels dollar bin alphabet sets) stamped using Versafine onyx black ink
  • Stardust stickles to highlight
  • Crop-a-dile used to punch 3/8" holes in the two layer tag and to set patinated heart eyelets ... all I need now is the wrapped gift and some white organza ribbon ...... see below

And the finished project ..... the gift? Well, some of you just MIGHT have correctly guessed it was a tag for this bottle ... which came in doubly handy as she landed herself a new job yesterday too - CONGRATULATIONS!

FINISHED!!!!
I'll be entering this for the following challenges:-
  1. Artbymiran - challenge No. 77 - ANYTHING GOES
  2. Creative Fingers - challenge No. 124 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Simply Papercraft for all occasions - challenge No. 43 - ANYTHING GOES

Next on the crafting agenda ... I made a lovely "Opposites Attract" card, IMHO, for the One Layer Card challenge over at Simply Less Is More - got a bit carried away with the opposites part and .. when finished, realised that it actually consisted of FOUR layers, that'll be a no then - want to see my second attempt? Opposites, huh? I went with black and white for my sympathy card.

My card
The front and back of my card and front of my envelope
The inside of my card and the reverse of my envelope
Materials used:
  • 12cm square white, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • White card cut to 11cm square, for the insert
  • Memory Box script background image stamped using Memento London fog ink
  • Memory Box flower stamped using Versafine onyx black ink - this was a great opportunity to use stash I bought from Old Town Crafts when they were in St. Marys, Georgia - had these two wood mounted images a while!
  • Hero Arts sentiment stamped using Versafine onyx black ink
  • White self adhesive "faux brad" added to the centre of the flower

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:
  1. Simply Less Is More - challenge No. 315 - OPPOSITES ATTRACT and it's OLC week too!
  2. Crafting with an attitude - challenge No. 24 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Crafty Creations - challenge No. 334 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Word Art Wednesday - challenge No. 268/9 - ANYTHING GOES + uplifting sentiment or bible verse ... I went with uplifting sentiment

If you want to see the original make for the Opposites Attract challenge then do check my blog again tomorrow as it will be making an appearance there!
